Story

For many years our main focus was working with the younger children. After several years of investing in these children, we found that as they grew older and passed the age of 12 they became uncomfortable and stopped coming to Metro's programs. This was understandable as they had become teenagers and were too old for children's programs. It was then that Metro Ministries began to invest in the teens as well and not just the children by offering youth programs.

Now from the age of 14 and up, we encourage them to join our youth group and become part of a local church.  The goal is to teach them the truth of the gospel in a deeper way so that they can grow in a deeper understanding of who God is.

In our youth programs, we do activities such as games, quality time, sports, praise and worship, Bible lessons, and other activities each week.

This is a beautiful and exciting time when we watch them teach young children what they have learned themselves in the past. We also do events like youth camps and outreaches to other parts of Costa Rica where they can serve and stay motivated in God's ways.

The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.
